About the Museum
In 1941, to tighten the bonds of friendship between the Museum and interested guests even more, The Society of Friends of the Danish Maritime Museum was established.
It functions as a supporting association for the Museum and provides contributions to improve the Museum’s mediation by means of the purchase of new objects, conservation, and suchlike.
In 1942 the Society, which is open to everybody, began to publish its year book, which contains articles on sailors and maritime history.
As a member of The Society of Friends of the Danish Maritime Museum you get free admission to the Museum as well as to the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde.
You will be invitated to various evening arrangements and excursions, and you will receive the Society’s year book free of charge.
The annual membership fee is D.kr. 250,- for individuals and D.kr. 1.700,- for firms (incl. postage and administration). If you enrol and pay your membership fee during a visit to the Museum, the entrance fee will be refunded.
